Powering Government Connectivity Across Davao: Structured Cabling & CCTV Projects in Laak, Tagum, and Panabo

Powering Government Connectivity Across Davao | Checkway Electrotech

When government field offices need reliable networks and dependable security, they need a partner who understands both the engineering and the mission-critical nature of the work.

Over the past year, Checkway Electrotech has completed — and is currently completing — three structured cabling and CCTV projects for government agencies across Davao del Norte and Compostela Valley: the LTO Laak Local Office, PENRO Tagum, and the ongoing rehabilitation at Panabo CENRO.

Each project reflects our core specialties: structured cabling, network infrastructure, and CCTV surveillance — delivered to the standards these offices need to operate securely and efficiently.

Project Snapshot

ProjectClientDurationScope Highlights
LTO Laak Local Office Land Transportation Office May 20–26, 2026 8-camera ColorVu CCTV, 11-node structured cabling, 10 LAN outlets, 1 AP
PENRO Tagum Provincial Environment & Natural Resources Office Jan 13 – Feb 24, 2026 Full cabling & CCTV rehabilitation — 40 nodes, 48-port core switch, 16-camera upgrade, 42U cabinet
Panabo CENRO (ongoing) City Environment & Natural Resources Office Started Sept 16, 2026 Structured cabling & network rehab — 40 nodes, 48-port core switch, 32U cabinet

LTO Laak: Fast-Turnaround Security Upgrade

Completed in just one week, the LTO Laak project delivered a complete surveillance and connectivity upgrade:

  • 8-camera ColorVu CCTV system — full-color, low-light imaging for 24/7 visibility
  • 11-node structured cabling backbone with dedicated network switch
  • 10 LAN outlets and 1 wireless access point for office-wide connectivity

This project shows what a focused, well-planned deployment can achieve on a tight timeline — critical for a government office that can’t afford extended downtime.

PENRO Tagum: A Full Infrastructure Rehabilitation

PENRO Tagum was the most extensive of the three — a complete rip-and-replace of aging infrastructure:

  • Removal of all existing structured cabling and outdated data cabinets
  • 40-node structured cabling system built from the ground up
  • 48-port core switch, 31 LAN outlets, 9 wireless access points
  • 16-camera CCTV system upgrade and full rewiring
  • New 42U data cabinet with 2× 24-port patch panels
  • Enterprise-grade router and firewall for network security

This six-week rehabilitation transformed PENRO Tagum’s IT backbone — replacing legacy, failure-prone wiring with a scalable, standards-compliant network built to support the office for years to come.

Panabo CENRO: Ongoing Network Modernization

Currently underway since September 16, 2026, the Panabo CENRO project mirrors the scale of PENRO Tagum:

  • Removal of existing structured cabling and old data cabinets
  • 40-node structured cabling deployment
  • 48-port core switch, 33 LAN outlets, 7 access points
  • 32U data cabinet with 2× 24-port patch panels
  • Router and firewall installation

As with Tagum, this is a full network modernization — designed to give CENRO Panabo a resilient, future-ready infrastructure.

Why This Matters

Government field offices run on connectivity and security — permitting systems, records, communications, and public-facing services all depend on networks that simply don’t go down. These three projects demonstrate Checkway Electrotech’s ability to:

  • Deliver on any project scale — quick single-week installs (Laak) as well as multi-week rehabilitations (Tagum, Panabo)
  • Handle the full scope — from cable removal and demolition to structured cabling, switching, CCTV, and firewall security
  • Execute consistently across multiple government agencies in the region
